Ava was born within the noble house of Dragoste, her father the Noble Lord over one of the 13 houses that overseen the daily activities of Port Kiel. The youngest member of the house with two older siblings. Her mother having died due to pneumonia five years ago. Her fathers grief had drove them all to the brink of insanity with the darkness he cast over their house. Enough to drive her from its very midst and into a direction in which he wasn't pleased she chose to follow.
Although her attraction wasn't a sudden interest, nor a passing fancy, to the direction in which she chose to follow. From the day her father placed that first wooden sword within her hand, having meant it to be nothing more than a simple hand-me down toy from one of her brothers, it ended up being more.
Although she had been raised and schooled in the ways of being a proper lady, she also undertook the training needed to be considered a knight. Never once did she balk or whine about her bruises or cuts acquired through those awkward years, she viewed them as lessons, of what not to do if you didn't want to get hurt or end up dead.
By time she was thirteen, Ava was extremely skilled in all manners of melee weaponry. Her skill with hand to hand combat had little to do with brute strength, although she was stronger than most women with a physique to match. Her skill was in agility, a bit of acrobatics, and motion of grace; something being taught a lady did well to cross train.
By time she was seventeen, she was sent upon the circuit of following events in representation of her house. However, that competitive edge of hers was never left to home. Any event that welcomed a knight, would be welcoming her as well. It was at this age she gained a knight status. A title her brothers fought hard in her name to be allowed given.
By the age of nineteen, she'd made a name for herself upon the field of battle, and in the times she had been allowed to lead a group of men which was usually when its commander had fallen. Even though a member of the house, and her two brothers holding their high ranking upon the knights lead, she had to earn her position.
Upon turning the age of twenty, that was when she could no longer bear living in the house with her mourning father who was seeing sobriety less and less each day. Pleading with her brothers to give her a position that would take her out of the house, she was given the position of Captain. One she held in the name of valor, ferocity, and fearless nature. Two sides of a coin did the noble woman live, in times the life of a lady, at others that of a knight.
