Shaking his head with a quiet chuckle and a grin, Ekaterina's departure back into the pub was caught in his side vision, and leaving the two men to their own devices, he was soon stepping inside the pub himself. "The young man is too harsh on himself, if only he could see that what he does is an uncommon talent." Reaching the halfway point between door and bar counter had him stopping as his words brought a thought to mind which encouraged the smile to the proportions of a grin. "Much like playing the violin..." A chuckle followed that as he continued towards the bar, to slip behind the counter. Glance over to Nicodemis with the slight rise of a brow and a light chuckle. "Point made Mien Fruend." He had hrr smirking at this point. She'd slip into the kitchen first to find that pitcher of what she now had a taste for. Upon finding it where she left it yesterday, she'd carry it back to the common room as she eased behind the bar in search of a glass. "I made some lemonade yesterday. It's steeped all day and night, so it should be ready." Offering to Nic after claiming a glass and filling it with the bright yellow liquid.
His original intention had been to pour out another glass of wine, or even to fill a snifter with brandy, but the offer of lemonade he found more appealing and gave a nod of his head, his hand held out in anticipation of taking the glass from her when filled. "You make me feel inadequate, did you know that?" Though the smile hedged on being a grin, it was still gentle as was his voice. "I feel like a hollow figurehead of an owner when it's you, and Aloysius, that actually take care of the pub." Soft chuckle as she handed over the filled glass, snagging a second for herself to be filled once he grasped that offered. "That is until business picks up and you become overwhelmed with the required paperwork involved." Glance over at him with a grin as she set the pitcher aside to claim her glass. "Besides, my presence here is only until my lessons are considered paid in full, then it will be back to you and Aloysius again to fend for yourselves." Teasingly added. "Ah, now I see..." Mock sagely nod of his head was in humorous contrast to the grin that became fully apparent as he furthered the teasing. "A diabolical plan, that, to leave me drowning in a sea of paperwork and Aloysius to be left at the mercy of the patrons." Another mock of a sagely nod was made as the glass was raised and a sampling taste taken. The effect was immediate, and much like her reaction when she had sampled the stew. Lifting the glasses level with his gaze, his expression was appreciative, and in the next moment, as he spoke, dark eyes were shifted to focus on her. "But before you abandon us, I insist you surrender the recipe for this lemony nectar." Soft laughter to sound as she peeked over at him with that single crystalline blue. "Besides, it's a proven fact, men who tend bar attract women, who in turn attract men, thus an influx of business. As fine looking as Aloysius and you are, combined with your sweetened demeanor, this place will undoubted flourish. Where as, I am more like the very fruit in which this drink was made of." Chuckling as she spoke, lifting the glass for emphasis of her words. Slow nod. "It's actually quite simple, it's just the steps have to be followed in proper order." A grin before that glass was raised to take a slow enjoying drink. Had to admit, she did make a mean lemonade. "And here I thought the secret was in the lemons themselves." Lifting the glass quieted the chuckle, but pitched hues remained on her as another drink was taken. For a moment, he studied her over the rim, his focus held in particular to the flaxen curtain that concealed the right portion of her face. He debated on the importance of asking the question as much as he debated on the importance of the question itself, and such a debate could be seen in the depths of his dark gaze. Yet, he said nothing as lowering the glass, he lowered his gaze to the bright yellow liquid. Another silent moment was passed between them before a decision was made and advice offered in place of the question. "Some say that applying a piece of cool meat can reduce swelling and to an extent, discoloration..."
Glass lowered as focus turned upon him, left brow to rise slightly. "Meat? After the heavy purse I just paid to the apothecary for a remedy. I was always told they were charlatans, perhaps what's said is right." A bit amused, touch of a grin to form before her head tilted downwards to peer into her glass. "Well, lemons are the important factor, they have to be ripe and fresh." Glance back over at him. "You can use various citrus fruits to gain the same effect for different tastes either alone or in combination." Lift of his gaze removed his focus from the lemonade to again redirect towards her, a slight frown forming in the otherwise understanding expression his features held. Again silence hung heavily between him before it was broken by the softened timbre of his voice. "If you wish not to tell me, I'll respect your wishes but it can't abate my curiosity...or my concern as a friend." A bit of a frown as she looked down at her glass. Slowly her hand rose to brush back that curtain of golden strands. Right eye was black and blue, reaching down into her cheek. Bottom of jaw held the same coloration, at least the swelling had gone down that nearly closed the eye completely. She'd look up at him, now exposing the damage in full. "I was attacked at Bess' bar, taken off guard. I refused to give the man what he wanted, so this was what I got in return. I fought back, he didn't like it, though it did eventually get him to lose interest in me." Hand would move to draw that curtain of hair back over her face. "Packed crowd too, not a single individual came to my aide until long after he drug me outside and had me pinned down bruising his hand upon my face." A bit of a bitter tone there. Visibly, his posture stiffened as he listened to her and a few disturbing scenarios were called to mind. Inhale was drawn harshly through the nose, and with a moment's hesitation, the exhale was released with the same steady andsubtly audible sound. "And what was it he wanted?" The question was asked in a pointed yet hushed tone, but the anger harnessed behind the words weren't intended for her, but the nameless and faceless man raising his ire. She'd look over at him. "What does most men want of a woman Mien Herr." Leaving it at that, the distaste of the whole situation again to touch upon her tongue. "If I hadn't been wearing a d**nable gown, he would have got his in return, I promise you that." A pause as her glass became visual point of focus. "Though he wasn't a man like you or Aloysius. His flesh was cold to the touch, his eyes gleamed red when I angered him. One thing is for certain, I'll never forget his face. Time is on my side, next time it will be I catching him off guard." Conviction could be heard in her tone. The glass rose and she took a healthy drink of the lemon drink, as if to wash the bad taste out of her mouth that reflecting upon that night had created. Fingers and thumb tightened about the glass, the knuckles turning white with the effort, but restraint was what kept the glass from shattering in his grip and spilling the contents in a sudden downpour. Thirst had been slackened with the initial sips of the lemonade but understanding fully what she wouldn't expound on obliterated any lingering thirst. Dark hues turned downward to the glass in hand, noticing the white of his knuckles spreading through his fingers to discolor his flesh. It was with an odd, languid precision that the glass was set to the counter as with another inhale, he calmed himself back into sensible rationality. "Verdammtes Tier." The two words were quietly uttered and hardly above a whisper before with another calming breath taken, his gaze again returned to her. Looking up at him. "Now you know the reasoning behind the veil. I didn't wish to draw this type of reaction." She could see the tenseness in his stance. "I've been through worse before, it comes with the territory. Noble born and bred I may be, but I'm viewed as nothing more above a prostitute." Small shrug of her shoulders as she turned to set her glass aside. "I guess in a way, I don't differ much than they. I sell myself for large purses to see that another's darkest desire is full filled fully." Slight touch of a frown to ebb upon youthful features as she stared upon the glass now settled on the counter. "I'm the bad thing that happens to good people, Nicodemis."

Although the sun had set so many hours ago, the thickness of the air still clung in its humid nature to the ground. A haze to drift upwards as the moisture dissipated into the cooler air about it. Windows and doors to the Inn still remained wide open at this point, a soft glow of dancing candle light parted the darkness through opened portals. Alex was in the kitchen tending to bake goods to be made the next day, and she was moving about from table to table. Snuffing out excess candles to save. Adorned still in that midnight hue corset/chemise style top. Doe skin wrap around skirt now hitched at the sides to expose a bit more leg, for cooling purposes. Barefoot still was the Norse as she drifted about the common room tending to her present task.
:He had left her to business with the odd fellow, though he would much have preferred to just take what items they needed and be free of him. There was work for him to tend to, and he found himself moving through it quickly or ignoring it entirely. His brief stint with her hadn't been enough, and if that odd little man hadn't been present... well, there would have been more then a kiss. His return to the Inn was in hopes of finding her rapidly, night having descended but done little to ward away the humidity and heat of the day, no the humidity would only get worse as the air cooled. His clothing clung to him like a second skin, and his skin itself felt sticky. He was all too happy to be free of the horse, the great beast having only heated him further. Sadly upon entering the Inn any hopes at being cooled, disappeared with the sight of her and the creamy hint of thighs bared by the hike of the skirt. An idea came to mind, a devious one born of six days at sea and her beauty there before him. Silent was his approach, as only who knows how to be silent can. It would be his scent that alerted her, mere moments before his hands found the naked skin of her legs. Palms rough, and finger tips with them worked by wood and toil now marveled at the cashmere her beneath it. His chest pressed to her back, his head bent and lips were placed at the beginning of her neck and shoulder as greeting. There was other pressure, of loin to her flank, the swell of it hidden within and created by her, for her. His arms tightened at her sides as his hands climbed higher and flirted with the ties of the skirt. Against the base of her jaw, near ear, his words came, husky and low.: ...Six days is too long to not know your insides my lover... :A brush of lips, roughened by the still unshaved cheeks against her.: ...Which will house me first?...
His scent would assault her senses, not in an offensive way, but one that awoke her to his presence. Placing the candle snuff down as she felt his arms and touch about her, an almost cooing sound would emit past lips. Pressing back against him, head to tilt slightly with a further offering of her neck to lips assault. "It's only been six days? ... Has felt like a lifetime." Came the soft murmur of words as her own head would turn, stealing a kiss from his lips prior to those pale hues gazing up into his eyes. "Anxious are we now? I'm surprised I'm not getting the hundred and one questions first." Turning slowly in his arms, so that now her chest pressed against his upper abdomen. Head tilted back slightly to enable her to gaze up into his eyes as she softly smiles.
:His smile, and the light humor that birthed from chest as chuckle showed his happiness. For a man sure of many things, it was an odd feeling to return home from a brief voyage and be un-sure. Her lips solved that, in taste over his own, the turning of her body a pleasant experience that had fingers trailing over hips and thigh, over the curve of rear before returning themselves whence they came. It seemed the bare splits up her summer skirt were too great a temptation to resist, the flesh revealed too soft, too warm to his touch not to caress and known. Six days it had been, and by her own words it felt a life time. Looking down to his lover, things felt right in a world gone wrong. O there was death a plenty, and his hands would be red with blood in a world that offered view of such. They had enemies, plotting even now. He couldn't find a thread in his mind to give care to any of it, for she was beautiful, and filling in his arms.: ...A hundred questions? Is that all you think there will be, plus one...hmmm... :Head thingyed as the smile became a half thing, the rough of several days not shaving making him seem all the more the rogue he could be.: ...I am afraid you under estimate my curiosity... and the want of me for you. Nine day's has it been since you had me in your bed, since I had you Baroness. I am not a Saint to profess anything but distance will make me chaste. My thousands of questions will have to wait, for you are too beautiful today, and affect me to great... mayhap when my love addled mind is spent, along with other aspects of my person. I will find the time for my questions...
Hands move to rest upon his chest, slowly moving up to shoulders. Exploring, rememorizing that feel, chastising herself mentally at the same time, because she found herself wanting more! Right hand to lift, fingers to lightly trail over haggard jaw. Grin to form, left brow to rise slightly as she gazed up into his eyes. "Hmm .. so you mean that if I was to tease, I might get the best of you?" Amused glint in those crystal blue eyes. Hand to shift so that index could trail over the ridge of lower lip in a slow manner. "My, my ... I guess I won't have to use one of those potions on you then, will I!?" Teasing lilt to that softly spoken tone. It was then that grin did form into the genuine showing of a smile, which chased that look of amusement to one of ... perhaps adoration? There was something indeed. "You have been missed, I will admit." Not an easy admission to make, but he said he would be at her side, and his word he's kept true. That spoke volumes.
::Was with a skitter along shingles of the four inch heeled black leather boots, then a few steps along it to slow the momentum. Pinions masked by the infamous red leather and Jade hopped down, was looking to that tree a moment to break off a branch and use it to whack her comrade.. But ideal was thrown when there was a secondary signature within the Inn. Moving up to the front door, blackened veined right hand worked knob/handle and with a hard thrust, door slammed open to Jade singing, not really trying to.:: "Ca~an you fe~el, the lo~ove tonight!" ::Chuckled out before allowing the door to shut and giving the usual hug onto Alex? If the old bugger was about. Curious brow arching slowly to the sight beheld.:: "Talk about a hypocrite Wild Kat." ::Tsking noise after the comment. Having gone on and on to Jade the other night and low! Well, she could be wrong, this one could be a play thing after all. Adorn in the usual from Eldyn., boots, breeches of navy blue and crimson leather corset.. always the duster, of course. Bottle of Absinthe taken and opened to swig from.:: "Before you get too enthralled in the moment. I believe, a good thwappin' is in order." ::Sage nod when plopping bum onto a stool.. Staring at Kat. But shooting the male a minor glare and once over. Not sizing up or checking out, more like seeing what he wore and build. Can know what one is capable, usually, by how they hold themselves! ::
: That was a smile he enjoyed from her, near as much as he enjoyed the touch of her across his features, or on his chest, his shoulders. Any portion her touch sought to grace seemed better for it. The day of haze that came with a return to dry land was chased away by her.: ...Darlin, you will get the best of me...: A tease, he was allowed them. Though when an attempt at song broke out it did have him turning away slightly, his body placed between the new comer and the Norse he was currently doing his best to get back in bed. Though bathed it was evident he hadn't seen a barber or a sharp blade to shave in a few days time, his shirt was well made but of cheap material in linen. The top ties left undone to deal with the heat of the day and the humidity of the night, fine dark hairs noted over the beginning plane of pectoral. No doubt mimicked lower in the block of hidden abdominal. Stamina rich thighs and lithe calf. He was tall, broad shouldered, and dark by skin turned bronze in sun. Against right hip rested a sheathed blade, long and thin. When it became clear the new comer at least new Kat his body moved out of the way, reluctant to leave the feel of her bosom against him, of her hands, he still kept some hold fingers lacing behind her onto opposite hip as right arm lay over spine and back. Revealing him to be left handed, as the hilt of the blade stuck out between their bodies. His side pressed to the Norse's. Red leather, navy blue, she wasn't a quiet sight that's for sure:
Peering around Alcandor, she'd note Jades entry, and she just couldn't help it; she barked out with laughter. The kind she had to rest a hand on Alcandor's arm to steady herself. Once she collected herself, she'd peer up at Alcandor and smiled. "I think I might be in trouble." There was that amused tone back again, before attention returned to Jade. "Come on now, you know you adore all the attention! Besides, I can't believe you're blind to the obvious, that it took me to point it out to you!!" Bit of a chuckle before she'd continue. "Jade ... this is Alcandor ... Alcandor; this is a dear, old friend to me, Jade the pain in the ass." Lovingly spoken and a wink directed the woman. "Although she'll claim I'm worse for her." Soft laughter. She'd then put things in perspective for Jade. "You remember that herb I asked you to seek out for me, the final ingredient I need to tend to my problem?" Free hand, the one not resting on Alcandor's back, would move to settle upon her abdomen. "He's the one." Head tilted slightly as she smiled.
:: Jade, stand out? Naahh. Believe it or not, the Celestial was able to fade rather easily into the background, where she liked. Not to mention an aura this seemed to flare out like a beacon itself... There was rarely a need to be hidden. So, why try: "You bet that sweet lil arse you're in trouble.” :Smirking now with a playful glare with that comment.:: "It's called selective sight luvie. And I prefer it that way." ::Another sage like nod to that, as if the naturally regal poise didn't put on the stopper.:: "And no, I don't like It." ::Mumbled out into the bottle before swigging it again. With the questioning and remark about the herb and he was the one, Jade slipped from the stool and moved closer to the male, deemed Alcandor. Left handed sword user made her a bit on edge as it was.. Abiel was a left handed sword user.. Mind being thrown on track, the five foot eight inch woman carefully circled him, and Kat since they were attached to the hip.. Almost literally. Eyeing the male up and down. Bottle held within normal looking left hand while blackened veined right hand reaching out, extending index and giving the man's chest a bit of a poke.:: "Planning to ditch again Kat?" ::Hand recoiled while a curious, yet unsure look was cast upon her comrade. All fun aside, she was curious. Side stepping the other to be before Ekaterina.::
:If there was a book on his lover, it was certainly getting larger. There were many chapters and confusing twists he wasn't yeah sure he understood. Though when his attention turned to Kat, and she labeled him the one, and placed her hand over belly. There was a certain level of pride that made it to his eyes, and made the thin line of mouth again move in smile. Though smile was limited, and stoic became his expression with the one called Jade and her mannerisms, words, actions. A poke to his chest, a drink in hand. She was the little actress he had to admit, he wasn't quite sure yet if he liked her or disliked her. Poking finger would find nothing but firm flesh and a beating heart beneath it. Though her words were enough to put him in a somewhat defensive manner, who was she to not like him, or it? What was this of Kat ditching anything? Though he could agree on one thing, and if she wanted to play this cryptic little game, he would act his part. : ...You are right it is sweet... :Kat's lil arse, a reference no doubt. His eyes moved from half on Jade, towards Kat again.: ...You've got me at a disadvantage here Lady's... :Kat wasn't exactly shocked by Jade's presence, which told him she had been there during the time he was absent, the whole he's the one comment. Apparently he'd been a topic of discussion. :...I am a new comer, and a simple man. Mostly I am in love with her, spent six days at sea and full of a might lust, and frankly a bit tired. I'm in love with her, I think I am growing on her, she don't seem the type to ditch anything or anyone, and you are her comrade :Hand was extended, that which was not firmly a hold of Kat, in offering to Jade.: ...So you're mine... :Maybe that would keep the conversation more in a alley he could understand and follow. Though add the ditch comment to the thousands of questions she was tallying up.:
Roll of eyes and sigh of exasperation. "Ninn, Jade. Mistakes are not something I make twice." Hoping to set her friends mind at ease. "There's more to it, than you know...." It was then Alcandor spoke out, a brow did rise at his out burst of being in ... love ... with her. Those are words she had yet to hear out of his mouth .. Until now. Notice the look of slight shock and surprise upon youthful features as she looked up at him; a bit slack jawed. Okay, so she was also at a loss for words. For a long moment she just stared up at him, then attention would shift to Jade ... She began to speak, but found herself looking up at Alcandor again. "Did you just say you're in love with me?" She was going to explain more to Jade, honest injun, but right now this man she stood before, had again, for the third time today, swept her off her feet. If he laughed, she'd stomp his toe. Then she'd glance over to Jade before looking back up to him. "You still have no problem then, with me terminating the child." There was the preparation of herbs and powders yet to be made. "That is if Jade's found the final ingredient I need." Peering over at her friend once more.
::When he spoke, kaleidoscopic irises held onto his eyes as if reading for the truth all the while he spoke about his love. First said he might, then he said he was.. Peripheral catching the slack jawed expression from Kat, not to mention the earlier glint of pride from one of her comrades’ remarks. Gaze intensified a bit more, as if looking through the male, don't ask, she was what Kat would call 'magical', though to the Celestial, it wasn't. Either way, she wouldn't speak up at first, when the hand was offered out, it was examined, habit really, seeing traits upon the fingers and palm of work ethic, then onto Kat again about he was the one having the problem with her terminating the lil peanut! Warranted half glare onto him, then back to Ekaterina. With a calming exhale, calculated mind would drift briefly, then onto the topic at hand!:: "My mind misgives." ::Murmured out to neither in particular, more like a vocalized thought. Then onto the offered hand.:: "Forgive the mistrust of a classification, but your natural left handed ability to using a sword makes me .. weary. The word play can be over looked but the allowance of termination of your flowering seed gives you less and less points on that.. Friend in the future list." ::Eyes lulled over to Kat.:: "Oh, I have it. I've had it for awhile. I just think this needs to be.. thought through perhaps?" ::Although Jade couldn't help that little inner monolog of’AWE!' When he said he loved her, and Kat was shocked to hear it. Love is in the air! Well, for them anyways, Jade was jinxed like that.::
:It really hadn't meant to come out that way, it was late, he was tired, and he had just spent six days at sea with people who were less attractive then his current company. Coupled with the frustration that the last three attempts to be intimate with her at ended with failure, one due to the way of life, the other a small gay man with a potion, and the third well...Jade. He looked at Kat with a raised eyebrow, had he said it? Yes...but really did she not know? He'd killed three men, been d**n near killed himself. He'd lost money, he'd made money, and he’d made a fool of himself and played a hero. Though his hand wasn't taken he didn't seem overly offended as it fell to side, rough and worn from the toil of a sailor, and a swordsman.: ...Hold on... :Came voice as the end of her speech was achieved, his right hand now snaking out from behind Kat to brace on the table behind him, to keep him from waving his hands while talking.: ...I'm left handed because when I got a sword, my right arm was broke...and what the hell are you two on about termination of my seed? We were getting herbs to ensure you didn't become pregnant, not to get rid of a pregnancy you already had?...:He questioned as he turned head to look at Kat, not waiting for an answer his attentions then turned to Jade.: ...Which isn't terminating anything, unless you count the times I spend myself in other places, termination as well...
Jade would gain a bit of a glare. "You held it back?!" Lips to purse slightly. "I know you had a problem with this, but keeping it from me so that the seed could take... that's not right!" Peering up at Alcandor. "That's what I had intention of doing, just some of the items I needed are rare and not easily gained. I had all but ..." Looks back to Jade. "... one ingredient, which I was told would take a fortnight, then another day .. only to find out tonight, she's had it all along!" Slow shake of her head, attention would shift back to Alcandor. "It wasn't done intentionally, on my part." Looking back to Jade. "Do you have it with you now?" A shift to lean back half against the table and partially against Al. "I've told you Jade, I've too many enemies presently to go through with this."
::Would chalk that left-handed thing down, but still made her weary. Listened to him, still those eyes, anytime they landed onto Alcandor, they seemed to intensely study his expression and body language, but went neutral and almost serene once finding Ekaterina.:: "Oyi, I've been bloody busy and so have you chattering to the Demon. I was going to give it to Alex the other night, but no.. I got held up by someone who was apologizing. And returning someone to" ::Rose hands to do air quotes with a roll of eyes:: "Enemy territory." ::End quotes.:: "Yes I have it with me. What do you think I have all these ruddy pockets for.. looks?" ::Blackened veined right hand fished through the inner pockets, looking down into them to carefully pull out the burlap cloth bound herb. Not a whole lot of it, but it was still relatively fresh. It was examined to be sure it was still intact, then extended out.:: "And so do I. Human or nae, we find the means to protect what is ours." ::Like the night Kat made Odin proud and passed out on the couch. Was thankful the Nordic didn't awake to see Tovaras in the state he was.::
:Six days at sea, and he had been looking forward to a warm bed, and the warmer parts of her he could get lost in for the next week to make up for the week he missed. Needless to say his return was not going quite how he had envisioned his welcome home when he stepped off the docks and onto land earlier that day. : ...Busy...you've been busy. Are you bloody insane or literally this un-caring?... :The anger in his tone had made his voice low, caring between the three.: ...You knew your friend needed this, despite what your opinions on it were. You didn't even stop to think if she wanted to be pregnant, now she is...You're pregnant?... :The tone in his voice did not want a verbal response as his gaze turned to Kat.: ...Obviously we aren't going to terminate a pregnancy, never mind that it's a child of mine in you there, is the risk of making you infertile, the risk of you bleeding to death which your friend hasn't paused to think. No Jade you made some moral stand on your high horse, so now a child will come into this world. Of a mother who is likely to be poisoned everyday, and a father who is likely to be drowned in the coming days or devoured by a gods d**ned shark, and you have the balls, or stupidity to stand there and insult me, and think low of me because I might terminate a child I didn't even know I had until a minute ago? I just got home, I just wanted to tell woman I love that I love her, wanted to go to sleep to the joyous thought of actually getting to wake up next to her for only the second in my life... :Angry, oh you bet, and not just at Jade.: ...Congratulations Lord Valdus, your lover is pregnant, contemplating termination of the fetus that in all likelihood will die young. Because she didn't get the herbs, because her friend chose to withhold.... welcome home...
Anger ... the anger in his tone noted, and she nearly cringed. Peering up at Alcandor as he went off on Jade, and then the question poised towards her about the child she carried. She had just found out herself, even Jade wasn't told yet. His answer would be by the look he gained when she peered up at him. She got her answer, and quite bluntly too. It wasn't like any of this was planned, she didn't just wake up one day and say ... I'm going to get attacked today, saved, then impregnated... "Jade ... can we talk later!? ... I would like some time alone with Alcandor .. it seems we have some things to talk about." She'd offer her friend a slight smile, then peer up at the man by her side. "Now you know why I've come here." Since he had that curious look when he entered to find her in this place, so far from the manors that sat upon the cliff lines of Port Kiel.
"Insane." ::Gave a nod to the rhetorical comment from him. Still holding out the herb to Kat. But with the yelling, the blah blah, head drifted aside with an exhale, to less trained eyes it looked as if she was bored. But it was nothing of the sort at all! Jade had, amongst other things, anger issues. So this was a breathing technique, avert gaze from the issue, breath and find calm. Then back onto him when he finished and that twinge of pain in her spine died away. Eyes found the man again when he finished, lips parted as if to deliver a quip, Kat would know would be comical, but then her comrade spoke up. Herb lain to the table top and she smiled softly.:: "It actually did take a day or two to find it. I wasn't lying about that before. Can tell, by how new the thing still is." ::Prolonged nod given to her friend.:: "I'll come to find you again." ::The next few days would be.. tedious. To say the least. Frustration built up again with knowing what the future brought, when head leveled she eyed Alcandor.:: "I don't judge others. If you feel my stare is judgmental, then it's simply your insecurities surfacing." ::Short nod of farewell, then turn and off she went. Waving bye to Alex, and yes she took the absinthe with her!::
:Her stare? Had she forgotten her words when he offered his hand and she refused it. It had little to do with the way her eyes looked at him and everything to do with what she herself admitted, or claimed to be knowing of. The last few minutes of his life were ones that would be very fun to recall. He bit his tongue, he didn't know women but knew most needed the last word to manage them. He would let her have it, she was a friend of Kat even if she showed it in odd ways. Whatever his current feelings for her were, they would no doubt change in time. He could not look at Kat, if he did his anger would leave him, melted away by the look of her and the memory of his affections, of how he had missed her and a week was made to seem a lifetime. So instead he found a point fixed behind the bar for his eyes to rest on. : ...We discussed this... you said you would get the herbs.... :There was a pause but it was evident he was not done.: ...I love you, six days away from you makes that evident. We had a plan, we had things to do, enemies... this makes that very difficult but I am not sure I can have you take those herbs now and be able to live with myself come morning...
A soft sigh to sound a light touch to his arm, his refusal to look in her direction spoke volumes. Even if she didn't realize that to simply gaze into his eyes would make all pass into nothingness; at least for the moment. "It wasn't something I planned ... and it's not like I've been through this before, Alcandor. You're my first, in all of this!" Hand to retract and she'd slowly move to where Jade had set the herbs down upon the table prior to her departure. "I had no clue It had even taken, until someone started going on and on about some glow to my features. A group of gaggling hens telling me I had that look. So I went to have it confirmed." Package taken in hand, she'd now turn to face him. "... and it was. Imagine how shocked I was in this. We're not even wed, and it's not like I'm honestly worried about my reputation in Kiel ... but I do have to maintain some form of decorum that the title demands, and for more reasons than you honestly know." Perhaps if he thinks back to earlier and the types of potions she purchased, he might question exactly what it is she does when she slips off and disappears for hours on end. Surely such actions are the rage of gossip that is if the gossip had reached his ears.
:The thousand questions were going to have to wait a few more moments, he knew that she disappeared often, knew that she did things other then the plans they discussed, the life they discussed. But life was funny like that, it changed. It ever altered from one brief moment, a few minutes in a bath tub for instance. He did a funny thing then, he smiled, and the smile became a laugh, and with laughter only recently ended and bright eyes he looked at her. His hand extended and grabbed her, pulled her to him. So be it, life changed. :...Marry me...child or not. I am the captain of a ship, if I say it is so it is so. We can get whatever paper to say in turn if you like, but I will be your husband and you my wife. I have spent six days in hell free of you, and wanting nothing more then to return. Imagined every scenario of you seduced, of you turning to another in my absence no matter how far fetched or absurd the idea... :Arms wrapped around her to rest over the shelf of her hips as gaze turned to look down on her.: ...So marry me...and for gods sake come to bed with me...
The package in hand would fall to the floor when she was pulled to him. His laughter puzzled her at first, but nothing like the surprise of his following words. "Marry you?" It was but a hushed whisper of words, slow blink as she gazed up into his eyes. A whirlwind is what her life turned into, all clamoring down on her at once. It would solve the problem of her being with child, since it looked as if her prior plan to rid of it wasn't to take place. A single and simple word to answer both his queries at the same time. "Yes!" They knew nothing about each other, truly, and perhaps it was madness that carried them both along this path. How destructive it would be, yet to be revealed. However, there was one thing she couldn't deny, and it was the way her heart skipped a beat, then increased in tempo with his touch, or even a glance in her direction. His being on her mind, even when distance separated them. Perhaps the knowledge that she spoke of him while he was gone, would set his mind at ease in knowing ... there was no other man in her life, nor had she been looking. Lift up on tip toes would permit her to meet his lips with a soft embrace. Parting only briefly as she whispered. "I have missed you ... and I am in love with you too!" Lips to brush once more in the wake of words spoken, hands to rest lightly against his chest as she sealed her verbal commitment with a kiss.
Unbearable - No longer could he take it, that kiss to be his undoing as he bent to sweep her up into his arms and hold her tightly to his chest. The kiss never to be broken as he crossed the room with her in tight hold, heading to the stairs that would carry them up to her main suite of rooms. Six days to be made up for, as well as the finalization of nuptials, even if some would say that process had already been completed. To hell with what all said or though, his only thoughts were on what was going to transpire when he got her up into that room and ripped her clothing from that soft, luscious body. All other matters would be dealt with later, the here and now would be saiting his appetite and making those nightly dreams become a reality:
