Ivory had fled deep into the wilds of Cinders, fleeing her own pain and fears. She'd stood silently before the small fire of the Aldhelm's home when she felt the touch of a call, a cry for help. Quickly the wizard's mind drove fast and swiftly through the passages of worlds, through the forest and up above the clouds her thoughts circled until they hoovered just above the port city, the wizard sent the soft whisper of her voice to touch at the mind's presence she felt clinging to life. 'I have heard you, give me your name and I shall come to you.' Her mind voice soft, yet persuasive.
Her mind was slowly slipping into the darkness of the planes, but she heard the soft whisper that reached her inner ear. A bare whisper to be returned, what little energy she had left musted to be heard. "Nadja..." Then all went black as she fell deeper into that void to the land of dreams that would seem a reality for her at this point and time.
Ivory wasted no time. Panic struck her for she needed to reach her friend and swift. She flew out the door and quickly crossed the channel, Shoep had been outside her door but she couldn't waste time to explain. Ivory rushed towards the city, post haste and the fear clung to her like the heavy fogs of mist. 'I'm on my way. Hold on Nadja...hold on my friend.' Her mind touched back at the gypsys...she felt silence...would she reach her in time?
Ivory rushed into the door, frantically searching. "Najda!" She cried out, running towards the stairs below. Until she found Nadja near the fireplace, crumbled to the floor. She knelt beside her friend and felt for a pulse. "She barely clings to life." She whispered to Shoep. She drew a breath and raised her staff, she chanted softly, and send the energy from her own source into the tiny gypsy's failing body.
Nadja's usually tanned complexion was ashen in nature, her breaths shallow with their intake. Lifeless was the tiny Rom on the floor.
Shoep panted as soon as they entered the Fortune Teller's shop. He could only look at Ivory. He steps a bit closer, hearing her whisper. He decides not to ask what happened, as there wouldn't be alot of time to explain anyway ''What can i do to help? '' he asked. quickly spoken
Ivory began to chant: Gangida, grant protection
from all imbalances in the heavens,
from the earth, from plants, from air;
from my past and from my future.
Protect me from east to south,
from west to north!
May my body be rendered healthy
under Gangida's protection!
"Get me blankets for her." She instructed Shoep. Then kept repeating the incantation, sending healing forces into the Rom's weakend shell of her former self. Her own body felt the weakened state of draining her own mental energy to save her friend's life. She'd healed the body, but the mind, the soul...that would still need minding. Ivory laid a hand on Nadja, the pulse was stronger but still frail. "She needs rest." She told Shoep.
Nadja begins to stir slightly, softly mumbling in her unconcious state. A name, it was a name that she seemed to be calling out, but it was inaudible for recogintion to those standing about. Almost a sound of a plea would be the tone of her voice.
Shoepa nods and just runs downstairs. But not finding any bed or anything at all, he decides to improvise, as he grabs small round carpet. sprinting upstairs again and dropping it next to the gypsy woman, as he sets aside the two chairs and the fortune tell table, he also starts pulling that rug into the gypsy's direction ''I hope those will suffice... '' he said, serious
Ivory found a small fur rug in the rugs and laid it on the floor before the warmth of the hearth."Help me gently move her Shoep."
Shoepa nods and walks to nadja's feet, looking up at Ivory, waiting for her to lift her up at her arms, or shoulders,
Ivory reached down and helped Shoep gently move the gypsy's small body. It was not difficult for the couple, since the rom woman was so tiny and light. They set her gently down in front of the fire.
Shoepa looked at the fire. He just looked at Ivory, sazving his own troubles and emotions for later ''What now? '' he whispered, not knowing what to do...
Nadja's soft mumblings continue and at one time a part of aname could be understood in her whispered rambling ..."Bas...." Her breathing was more normal, coloration returning to her tender flesh, yet locked for the moment in the realm of darkness was her mind.
Estrella peeks in to realize everyone was upstairs. "Oh! I'm sorry... I was here for..." She shook her head, "I didn't mean to interrupt."
Ivory knelt down again. "I'm not sure. She must have been touched with something dark and powerful, for I see no open injuries on her." Ivory's brow lifted as she heard Najda try to speak a name." Bas..." She questioned. She spoke up to Essie. "It is Nadja...we found her unconscious like this and injured."
Estrella takes a few steps forward, "Is there anything I can do?" She asks softly.
Shoepa sighs soflty. Feeling to helpless right now. He looks at Estrella, but doesnt say a word. He was totally clueless in situations like these. He picked up the rug he fetched and gently lays it over the tiny gypsy. Though making sure to keep enough distance to the fire with the blanket.
Ivory lifted her shoulders, unsure, then she took a risk and placed her hand to the gypsy's brow. The ivory wizard closed her eyes and sent her thoughts to swirl near the dream state of the gypsy, she dared to try to breech past and catch the vison of what touched upon her friend. Deeper and deeper the wizard's mind pressed into the dark shadows that swirled in a protective barrior about the Rom.
Nadja would softly moan, almost a protest as if she felt someone trying to delve into her protective darkness. Although it was but a dream, the arms wrapped around her made her feel safe and warm. Not wanting to be released from the sense of familiarity to which her mind had drifted to.
Shoepa looks at Estrella. he had no idea what to do. He only stood there and watched. Finding that this was exacly the reason why he hated magic. Things always happened that he just couldn't understand.
Estrella watches quietly, she was not yet familiar with the world of magic although her new sight allowed her to see perhaps more than she'd have liked or understood. She shifted uncomfortably, turning to look at the floor, not wanting to see anymore for the moment.
Ivory would see the two statues looming before the tiny Rom, carved from stone to look like two robed figures. Just beyond was a field and a cave opening. It would be the Rom's hand Ivory now seen, reaching out to touch not just one, but both the statues. It would be following this action that things took a turn for the worse for Nadja.
Ivory's mind's eye saw Nadja, laying in a forest in a place she did not recognize...she was held in an embrace...by a man that was so striking the wizard's breath actually would catch and be heard by the others. He wore such a wall of protection around him, such a force so powerful that the young wizard realized the vision had been implanted in the gypsy's mind, in her dreams. It was intimate and personal, lovers embraced in a secret setting meant only for them. Quickly the wizard stepped past the vision and moved away, her mind moved swift, deep into the dark, more dangerous areas of the gypsy's thoughts, her dreams. Ivory now stood in her mind's eye next to the gypsy, the opening of a cave, the statues loomed up in warning before them. Powerful, dark, dangerous and beckoning pulsated from within the cold, stone figures. The wizard's fearless, black eyes were as drawn to the energy as the gypsy had been, Ivory stood safely at the recesses of the gypsy's mind...and waited...
Shoepa looked at Ivory with interest, studying her reactions. Though still not understanding a thing what was going on. He didnt have anything else to do, apart from standing and watching. He didnt even speak, afraid to break Ivory her concentration. As that was one of the few things he knew about magic - It needed concentration. He cussed softly at himself in his mind. Wondering why he usually dragged himself into situations he couldn't do anything to help anyway. He then sighs softly and sits down... Wondering how long it'll take for Ivory to run off... again
Nadja would emit another soft moan and shifted slightly in her prone state. Her color had returned completely at this point in time, Ivory's healing had done it's job on her physical form. However, her mind was a different matter all together. What ever she had encountered last night, had sent her reeling into the protective state of a dream that had been created many years ago in a different time and place.
Ivory stood near, she witnessed the gypsy's hand come up and lay upon the statue...she saw the expression of Nadja's face, then felt the darkness, like a poison, seeped into her, it wrapped itself around her mind and theaded its dark, evil touch into every living essence of the Rom's body. Ivory stepped out from her shadows, she searched for its source and suddenly the wizard was caught. The darkness was a seal, a protection of some presence further past the statues. As a warning to the meddling mind of the wizard its energy struck out from the mists, the shadows, the visions of the mind and rushed towards Ivory, casting her far from the gyspy's unconscious state. Ivory cried out in pain, the air was knocked from her and she fell backwards in a lump on the hard wood floor. Her body shook, having felt like sharp claws had reached for her and thrown her forcefully from trying to touch something forebidden. When she sat up, weaker, shaken, blood trickled down from her nose.
Shoepa blinks as he sees Ivory crying out in pain, seeing her fall backwards. Her shaking body. He quickly stands up and crouches down next to Ivory, gently trying to put his hand on her shoulder ''Ivory, are you OK? '' he asked, seeing blood trickle down her nose. he had no idea what to do right now. He only kept his hand on her shoulder, hoping to get a reply or anything. Fearing that the same might happen to Ivory as what happened to the tiny gypsy.
Estrella's body tenses as Ivory cries out, her first reaction to step forward suddenly before she hesitates and lingers, her sight causing her to loose her breath herself and quickly look away again. The new born fae was completely frozen in confusion and fear and unable to react for a few moments before she gathered her courage at the sound of Shoep's voice and joined their side, still avoiding looking at Nadja.
Nadja would cry out with a scream of pain and terror when the attack on Ivory took place. She felt the pain of the situation as if those very claws ripped into the core of her own being when it thrust Ivory from the dark recesses of her mind. Like a gate keeper the darkness had become, guarding the very structure that now bound the tiny Gypsy's mind from returning to the hear and now.
Adromaw's footsteps sounded across port, "Her residence is this way"
Ivory sat stunned for a few moments, then her voice, strainged, answered Shoep. "Something holds tight to her, something very dark." Ivory leaned forward to touch Nadja, to calm her. She bravely reached back into the Rom's mind, only far enough to see the man from before nearby. His crisp hazel eyes caught the stare of the wizard's black gaze, then he was at the gypsy's side, embracing her again in his protective hold, a wall of a shield to keep the gypsy from completely slipping away. Quickly, quietly Ivory's thoughts slipped away. Nadja for the time would be safe with this unnamed one watching over her in her dreams. Kind of like the Aldhelm did in hers. She turned to look up at Shoep and forced a smile. "We'll keep watch of her, Shoep."
Venes enters and inquires: "Is everything alright in here?"
Estrella frowns slightly, glacing to Ivory, then to Shoep and then to the door as she hear's a familiar Ranger's voice and two familiar figures step through. She, however was quiet, not knowing what was going on exactly she seemed to wait for Ivory to give the ok.
Ivory looked back over her shoulder. "Our friend has been hurt. We are taking care of her." she explained to Adromaw and Venes.
Shoepa hearing the tiny gypsy scream made his stomache feel like it twisted. He got used to hearing screams of pain by now. But this was so intense, that is still made him feel bad. He glanced at the door as more people entered. But he just ignored them for now. He looks at Ivory and sighs softly ''I can keep watch over her physically... But i have no idea what is going on with her. '' he said. Truely being lost right now, as he squeezed Ivory her shoulder gently. Not knowing what to do anymore at the moment. He looked up at Estrella. Then at the new commers, and then at Ivory and the tiny gypsy again.
Adromaw Looked at the limp form of the woman he stood with that day the general and the governor had their exchange and before that the mix up with the guard. “Hurt? What happened to Nadja!?”
Nadja lays on the floor where Ivory and Shoepa had placed her, near the warmth of the hearth. To those who entered recently, she looked as if she was merely asleep. The soft mutterings continued, with the ocassional moan to sound. The protective barrier of her dream was keeping the darkness from doing more damage to her sensitive mind. A beast her mind had created, lurking outside the locked gates placed by the Nightwalker that now protected her.
Ivory took hold of Shoep's hand, squeezing it, her other rested on the shoulder of her unconscious friend. "She went down into Ravenscraig, I think." She tried to explain. "My guess would be near the fortress of the vampires. It was there she came across a source of great power by their protective barriors. It has somehow encased itself into her body and mind. I have healed her body but her mind still is held captive and tormented." Ivory took a breath. "She is guarded though, by ..." Her eyes seemed to narrow, a guess. "Another nightwalker...one more powerful, so ancient...I do not think men know his name. He'll not let them harm her further, but ..perhaps he shall be able to free her. I don't know." She said with a defeated voice.
Venes then speaks up "Perhaps we could find a way to free her if we went back to the Vampire Fortress..."
Estrella rises to her feet at these words, her wings hanging so low they trailed her skirts.
"A dangerous risk." The wizard warned. "Look at what has happened to our friend, if we go, this might be our own fate."
Shoepa nods ''My family is allied with the vampires in that Fortress... '' he said, at a tone as he almost doubted it himself '' I would say that someone that is not sensitive to magic goes... Or, perhaps someone that uses darker magic himself. '' he stated, but more guessing then that he actually knew it ''That would hopefully eliminate the risk of getting another one end up like... '' he sighed and gestures to the tiny Gypsy ''Her. ''
Ivory frowned, she squeezed Shoeps' hand again. "But who can we send?" She looked at the resting form of Nadja, peaceful at this state, for the moment.
Adromaw looked some what baffled, his head tilted one way and then the other. He still knew little of vampires but first Shoep's brother and now Nadja. His fists clenched as something welled up inside him. What does all this mean, what can they do and why are these vampires doing this... this is nuts! A felinely growl left him and he began to pace the room and search the windows. He listens on to the conversation with flared anger and concern
Shoepa sighs ''I'm willing to go, if someone tells me where to look for... '' He didnt believe what he was actually saying. The tiny gypsy owed him one already. And now he was about to risk getting himself killed for her once more.
Ivory tugged at Shoep's hand. "No." She pleaded. "Could not Kain go, or one of the nightwalkers that reside around Port Tarrund? You need not risk this, I think it would take one more of their own kind to help with this one." Ivory looked at Nadja. "She has been marked already....by one of them."
Shoepa nods and gets up ''I can ask Kain another favor... But i think i'll have to make a sprint to the bellmont hall then ''
Ivory looked up with concern. "You'll come back...you will come back?" Worry in her dark gaze for her friend.
Shoepa didn't awnser the question. As he didnt think he had time to ''What do i need to tell kain to look for ? '' he asks.
Estrella is watching Adro silently, noticing how as of lately he seemed to become more and more agitated. Looking down to Ivory and Shoep again she realizes their conversation has changed and steps back to give them space to speak as she moves towards Adro, resting a hand on his shoulder and looking to him silently near the window.
Ivory drew a breath. "Tell him to go to the vampires...let then know one of our friends, a human, has been harmed by their barrior of protection, it holds her mind in torment. They should then know what to do...that is...if they are willing to help, to release her."
Shoepa watches a familliar Hawk fly at the window, and continue hovering infront of it. He runs out of the building, the hawk following him already. He knew whose bird it was already anyway
Essie disturbs him from his thoughts and he glances to her before his mind changes its direction in but a moment and his body just moves. All this talk of being marked stirred his memories of taking her out of the tavern during the crazed frenzy in her wounded state. He had given her some much needed distance from those that would seek harm at the sight of her in that moment and they talked at the docks. He wasn’t sure why but his anger and tension subsided and was swept by fear and concern. He knelt by Nadja and with welling eyes and a pleading hurt felinely tone he called to her body though it would likely be but a fading sound in darkness. “Nadja!” and after a pause he called again “Nadja! Come on wake, we have to go” he tilts his head in “…Nadja” and he falls silent with a shaking hand to reach to her arm.
Ivory dark eyes softened as she watched Adro come to his friend's aid. Just like her and Shoep..she thought. "Adromaw..." Her voice whispered to him. "She rests now..she is guarded by one poweful, he'll not let further harm come to her." Trying to reassure him.
Estrella watches for just a moment in sadness, the light in her eyes gone as she turned to head out the door. Of course she was concerned for Nadja, but her fae heart could not stand anymore sadness on this day, and so she flitted off into the darkness without a word.
Nadja continues the soft mutters, inaubible enough to be clearly heard by those near. Yet for the calm of her voice, her delicate features would shift from a mask of fear to that of peace. What ever turmoil was affecting her mind held a grip like a steel trap. The raging beast that stood on the outside of that locked barrier, raking it's deadly claws against it seeking entrance, yet it remained strong, unyielding to it's fury and demand to enter. The barrier was the Nightwalker that protected her in those dreams. If only he know what was planted so long ago, would be the only force keeping the small Rom safe at the moment.
Adromaw had no real clue of what she was on about but it sounded alright and he dug his hands to his ankles glancing away silent.
Ivory sat guard over her friend, she kept silent company with Adromaw, who seemed less willing than her to leave the gypsy's side.
