It was as they would pass into another corridor, via a cavelike entrance who's cieling was only a few feet above their heads after passing through a darkened orifice in the prior corridor. A path of weaving was made before a light source was shortly announced to their sights. It was through this that they would come out into a vegetation of the sorts perhaps similar to hawaii...some tropical paradise. though the elements of fruits and such colorful tropicana were not present in that particular spot. the wilderness held such wildlife though as Corothius looked about. Similar to that which was on the beach of course. it was through such that they would pass next, weaving upon a path amongst heightened palm trees. Coconuts upon the ground in a few spots waiting to be drank from. It was as well, after making a bend after the noticeable wall of the mountain they' d just came through that a curdle of blood was heavily present in the air. Another weavance about more bushels and the scent was founded upon an entrapment of some spiked appendage of a branch that was now sunken into one of the trees.. two bodies were caught in the trap...the lead of the clan beckoned corothius and his men to follo them further, shrugging off the matter and possibility of such a trap waiting for them as well.

Time passed. The group of men led by the captain of the Shadows' Edge formed an alliance with the tribe after aiding them in the removal of the remaining warriors who had invaded their territory, kidnapped their women, and killed some of their men. They though, were not an overly populatable tribe, maybe a few dozen at the most, dispersed throughout the cavernous northwesterly region, and a little into the woodlands adjoining it. They were also led to remain in their company for a week's worth of time. The ship having returned that same night as planned. Restocking of supplies was feasable with the natural habitat and of what they could find of fruits and what was provided to be hunted down as well as shared via the tribe. Through the translations between the tribe, and the men of the ship, particularly amongst the two who led both, a reward was provided that was most suitable to the ships' needs. An alcove was thus revealed within the spanning maze of caverns that loitered in the northwestern portion of the isle. These caverns as well led to an alcove that the ship had been sent to scout out. The alcove having already been constructed with a wall of branches, trees and an allotment of concealing debris that drifted about on the water and beaches. The sight of it from the ships' passing was figured to be nothing of that could suit their needs. They were sent primarily to scout the wall of stone and mountain for possible alcoves. It was though, revealed from within how the wall of debris and greenery was moreso a floating apparatus upon logs and fallen trees that could be led aside to allow an opening into a larger cavern that was well suitable to the ships size, rather numerous small ships could fit within. Though an armada wouldn't at all. The tunneling river led to one of the inner dwellings of the tribesmen. Though there were numerous abodes within the network they held. There was this one in particular that was left available, and used for their fishing and cleaning of such food. It was upon this vestige of cavernous land that the crew of the Shadow's Edge was provided to claim for their own as a gift, and reward for aiding the tribe in their war. It was perhaps in the passing of weeks' that this alcove would become their secretion for treasures and stolen goods from other ships that would pass through the Jade Bay and along the western coast of the island that they began to claim and hold a grasp upon. The inner port on the opposing side promised suitable prey as they were still unguarded and the goods being transported were found to be of gold from the mining exhibitioins further inland near the main city upon the island. It though, was not unkind of Corothius and his men to take a few of these ships into their custody, and use for trade as well as further piracy. The men of these ships were at times given quarter, and offered to serve along with the Shadow's Edge. It was how pirates grew in number. This passing of time did not continue for too long, or else there would be many stories missed in being told. There though, was rumor of a spaniard stronghold being built in the Port of Jade to the south. Where the population was still growing, and accumulating around if not because of this structures prescense there. Too, the number of slaves was growing to work on this structure. Some taken from the ships. Others found being transported upon the ships that were assaulted.
