“But of course.” He said with a nod, having no intent of changing his plans. When she spoke once more and dismissed the sort, he offered a drawn expression and a shrug, pulling the weapon away and reattaching the scabbard to the belt under the sash.
“It was more of a symbolic offer than anything, after all, I doubt you fear the blade of one man.”
Turning from her and to the man he came with he patted the man’s shoulder, pointing out to the ship with his staff.
“Come along then, back to the ship we go.” And go he did with the man in tow. Back to the docks they went and into the dingy, which soon after was out in the bay, heading towards the ship before it was hoisted aboard with the aid of nets, block and tackle.
Once aboard, his conversation with the captain was brief and to the point. Soon enough the ship was turning prow ahead, sailing into the cities ports proper and docking there. Masts pulled in and anchors dropped, rope thrown down onto the docks to be secured upon the cleats by dock workers. A gang plank, long, thick and heavy, was thrown from the gangway for the people of the ship to leave, yet none did so, at least not until a deployment of guards was there to accept the people of Kiel who desired to return home. Yet, with them, the Nobleman departed, slipping between the guards after being detained momentarily by the commanding officer, whom he had a short conversation about the collection of his things with. Again he approached her, though time alone.
“Things are going well, they only protested a little bit, but they saw reason. However the Captain has requested that he and his vessel be free to leave once their trading is done here, assuming that you let him trade.”
